To me it means hope. Hope for something better. The bible says faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. What do you think?
It’s hard to do, isn’t it? Having faith. People say, “just have faith!”. But when you are in pain and are suffering oh how hard it is to “just have faith”. It’s taken me a few years, and I still struggle with it. I want God to just fix my problems, don’t you? You KNOW he’s capable. Yet, He sometimes chooses not to.
A while back when I was bursting full of faith, I prayed and prayed about an issue that I wanted help with. I just knew He was going to answer my prayer. I was certain. Yet, my prayer did not get answered. I was crushed. And then I checked my devotional for the day and guess what it said? Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”
Amazing. It always happens that way. When I need an encouraging word, I get it. Either by a devotional, a bible reading, a song on the radio, a friend. Even when my prayer isn’t answered, my faith is always renewed.
